Cambodia, France Discuss Cambodian Peacekeepers' Capacity Strengthening

Acting director general of the Cambodia National Peacekeeping Centre and the Vietnam-based defence attaché of the French Embassy in Cambodia discuss further technical capacity building for Cambodian peacekeepers.
H.E. Maj. Gen. Sem Ratana, Acting Director General of the National Centre for Peacekeeping Forces, Mine and ERW Clearance (NPMEC), met Admiral Anne Brun, the French defence attaché, at his office here in Phnom Penh on Jan. 9.
The acting director general thanked the French team for good cooperation with his peacekeeping centre in training Cambodian forces deployed for the United Nations peacekeeping mission overseas.
He underlined the centre's need for more human resources with high technical skills, including demining, and international experience and invited the French defence force to join a tripartite drill with Cambodia and the United Nations.
Admiral Anne Brun positively acknowledged the technical capacity-building need and looked forward to deepening the cooperation with the NPMEC.
