The launch of Land Granting and Forest Protection Programme for Sustainable Development will not only help resolve land issues for landless households, but also prevent the encroachment of state land and encourage the citizen’s participation in forest protection and conservation.

The remarks were made by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, in a special statement broadcasted live this evening.

The Cambodian citizens who are truly landless will be given land by the state with the help of creating villages, he said, adding that they will be able to form communities to help protect the land and forests around the communities they live in.

According to the Premier, the Land Granting and Forest Protection Programme for Sustainable Development may begin accepting applications from landless people from February 2025 onwards. A National Committee has been established to lead the implementation of the programme, and its Secretariat will notify in due course about the procedures, forms, where to apply, and qualifications for the land grant.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also reaffirmed the Royal Government’s constant attention to the enhancement of citizens' land rights by promoting land measurement, land registration, and issuing land title certificates to citizens, as well as to the continuation to provide social land concessions to former armed forces and military families, the national police along the border, and poor citizens.
