NA Standing Committee Member Receives People for Care and Learning Delegation
AKP Phnom Penh, February 19, 2025 --
H.E. Kep Chuktema, Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, met here on Feb. 19 with a delegation from U.S.-based People for Care and Learning led by its Executive Director Mr. Travis Johnson.
In the meeting, H.E. Kep Chuktema, who is Chairman of the Commission on Interior, National Defence, Civil Service, and Border Affairs, thanked Mr. Travis Johnson for the humanitarian group’s continued interest in Cambodia and its efforts to understand the workings of the National Assembly.
He conveyed warm regards from Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, and other high-ranking lawmakers.
He also expressed thanks for the opportunity to strengthen the good relationship between Cambodia and the U.S. built on mutual respect and understanding, with positive momentum in bilateral trade and people-to-people ties.
The Commission Chairman said he hoped the group would continue to support Cambodia's humanitarian efforts and promote its potential to U.S. investors.
For his part, Mr. Johnson thanked the Cambodian side for its hospitality and warm welcome, noting that this was his sixth visit to the country aimed at fostering understanding and strengthening bilateral relations.
He said his work in Cambodia was dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty, ensuring people’s happiness at all levels, and wished the Chairman happiness and success as well.
During its visit to the National Assembly, the U.S. delegation viewed the plenary session and exhibition halls as well as the library and new administrative building.
