Cambodia Airports Conducts Full-Scale Airport Emergency Exercise in Phnom Penh
AKP Phnom Penh, February 21, 2025 --
The Full-Scale Airport Emergency Exercise (AIRPEX-23) was successfully conducted at the Phnom Penh International Airport on Feb. 21.
The exercise was aimed to provide experience and knowledge to relevant institutions and agencies on the rescue work in a simulated crisis scenario (aircraft crash).
During the exercise, local authorities, the armed forces, ambulances, and fire brigades located in the capital were alerted, along with burning of oil and old tires to create flames and smoke to simulate a plane crash.
“Organised by Cambodia Airports, the airport community, and various authorities, this initiative has tested the emergency response and successfully enhanced our crisis preparedness,” said Cambodia Airports.
This is part of every two years activities applied by all members of the International Civil Aviation Organisation to respond to any possible accident.
