40 Fully funded Scholarships to Study in India Open for Application

Cambodian students can now apply for 40 fully funded scholarships to study in India for the academic year 2025-2026, said the Indian Embassy in Phnom Penh.
The scholarships which are being administered by the Indian Council for Cultural Relations’ (ICCR) include Mekong Ganga Cooperation Scholarship Scheme (MGCSS) – 10 slots and Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme (ABVGSS) – 30 slots, it pointed out.
The scholarships are being offered as part of India’s broader commitment to fostering international cooperation, strengthening bilateral ties, and promoting educational exchanges between India and Cambodia, said the source, adding that these scholarships provide a golden opportunity for Cambodian students to pursue higher education in India’s most prestigious educational institutions under the guidance of world renowned faculties.
According to the embassy, the ICCR Scholarship Programme is one of the India’s flagship initiatives aimed at enhancing cultural diplomacy and providing foreign students with access to India’s rich educational heritage. Through this programme, India aims to make its world-class education system accessible to deserving students from around the world. Cambodian students can apply for a range of undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programmes across various fields, including arts, sciences, engineering, humanities, architecture, and social sciences etc., except Medical, Paramedical (Nursing / Physiotherapy / anaesthesia etc.), fashions & law courses. This Scholarship is fully funded, covering all major expenses that students may incur during their time in India. This includes tuition fees, accommodation, living expenses, ensuring that the students can focus on their studies without the burden of financial concerns.
This programme plays a crucial role in strengthening the cultural and diplomatic relations between India and Cambodia. It allows for the exchange of knowledge, ideas, and cultures, thus fostering greater mutual understanding between the two nations. As part of India’s “Act East” policy, these educational exchanges serve as a bridge, encouraging the next generation of leaders in both countries to collaborate on a wide range of issues, from business to technology to global peace.
Through this programme, Cambodian students will have the opportunity to engage with peers from various countries, broadening their horizons and fostering a global perspective. To avail this scholarship, students must meet certain eligibility criteria – (a) must have completed secondary education or equivalent for undergraduate programmes. (b) age limit for undergraduate and postgraduate is 18 to 40 years (max 50 years for PhD candidate). (c) proficiency in English communication. Applicants need to submit an online application form along with supporting documents, including academic transcripts, a passport copy, and proof of English proficiency. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview/test at the Embassy of India, Phnom Penh.
