NA President Receives Courtesy Visit from Newly Appointed Vietnamese Ambassador

Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly, received here on Feb. 26 H.E. Nguyen Minh Vu, newly appointed Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam to Cambodia.
In the meeting, Samdech Khuon Sudary said that Cambodia and Viet Nam are “good neighbours, brothers, traditional friends, and strong long-term partners, underscoring the importance of bilateral exchanges at all levels across areas such as parliament, government, party, and social sectors.
“This traditional friendship is the core and key of our peace and prosperity,” she said. “Old and current generations highly value our friendship and partnership.”
The Cambodian National Assembly President highlighted the “important” outcomes of the summit of top Party leaders of the two countries in Ho Chi Minh City last week as “setting direction for the ties with depth and resilience."
For his part, H.E. Ambassador he was honoured to serve in a country that he loved and admired, highlighting Cambodia's invaluable historical and cultural heritage.
Ambassador Vu stressed the need for “more comprehensive cooperation with more substance, and concrete results.”
“Vietnamese investments in Cambodia are critical, contributing to socio-economic development,” the ambassador added, highlighting the role played by telecommunications company - Metfone.
The ambassador conveyed warm greetings from the leadership of Viet Nam — especially National Assembly Chairman H.E. Tran Thanh Man who deeply appreciated the arrangements for his visit to Cambodia in November.
Samdech Khuon Sudary said Cambodia was “fully committed” to implementing effectively the decisions and consensus of the leadership of the two countries. At the same time, Cambodia will continue to enhance trilateral ties among Cambodia, Lao PDR and Viet Nam.
“We need to double our efforts to push reforms to strengthen competitiveness and resilience, contributing to national peace and development,” she said.
Samdech Khuon Sudary also stressed the importance of connectivity, including people-to-people ties, nurturing the young generations of the two countries to understand the value of history.
The pair also shared views on boosting the bilateral trade and investment cooperation.
