Pursat Farmers Launch Modern Chili Cooperative
AKP Phnom Penh, March 06, 2025 --
A new agricultural cooperative, "Chili Damnak Troyoeung," has been established in Pursat province, marking a milestone in Cambodia's push for modern farming practices.
The cooperative, launched on Mar. 5, 2025, comprises 181 families cultivating 52 hectares of chili in Bun Rany Senchey Damnak Troyoeung village, Prongil commune, Phnom Kravanh district.
The announcement was made by H.E. Khim Finan, Under Secretary of State at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries. All members of the cooperative are former combatants who received social land concessions in the Bun Rany Senchey Damnak Troyoeung development area.
The initiative directly supports the Royal Government of Cambodia's sixth priority policy programme, which aims to organise and develop modern agricultural communities.
This programme, part of the Royal Government of the 7th legislature of the National Assembly, was officially launched on Nov. 20, 2023.
