Deputy Prime Minister General Tea Seiha Inspects Frontline Troops Ahead of Khmer New Year

In a gesture of solidarity and support, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence, H.E. General Tea Seiha, visited the frontline troops of Military Region 5’s military unit 502 in Samlot district, Battambang province, on Mar. 5.
The visit, timed ahead of the Khmer New Year celebrations, aimed to assess the readiness and morale of soldiers stationed along Cambodia’s borders.
During the visit, he expressed profound gratitude for the unwavering dedication and sacrifices of the troops, who play a pivotal role in safeguarding Cambodia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The visit also served to uplift the spirits of the soldiers as they continue their vital mission of border protection.
In response, the Commander of military unit 502 reaffirmed the commitment of officers and soldiers to defending national sovereignty, ensuring the security of citizens, and collaborating to prevent cross-border crimes.
The Deputy Prime Minister conveyed heartfelt New Year’s greetings on behalf of Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, and former Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister Samdech Pichey Sena Tea Banh.
He lauded the frontline forces for their steadfast service and encouraged them to strengthen cooperation with neighbouring forces to maintain peace and security in border regions.
In a firm directive, H.E. General Tea Seiha urged soldiers to actively combat drug trafficking and to abstain from any involvement with illegal substances.
To bolster the troops’ morale and support their well-being, he provided financial assistance to military units in the region, ensuring they could celebrate the upcoming Khmer New Year with dignity.
This visit highlights the Cambodian government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and operational readiness of its armed forces, reinforcing stability and security along the nation’s borders as the country prepares for the festive season.
