Cambodia Strongly Supports Transparent and Fair Trade
AKP Phnom Penh, March 06, 2025 --
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning shared Cambodia’s stance over the world trade, stressing that the Kingdom supports transparent and fair trade.
In his keynote address at the opening ceremony of the Cambodia-ASEAN Business Summit 2025, held in Phnom Penh under the theme “Accelerating ASEAN's Connectivity: People, Infrastructure, and Trade,” Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said as a member of WTO, Cambodia demonstrates a strong commitment to the transparent and fair trade.
“We are focusing on a dynamic and integrated economic community through robust trade liberalisation and facilitation,” he underlined.
In close partnership with our ASEAN, we are diligently working to dismantle and reduce trade barriers, streamline customs procedures, simplify business regulation, and establish a certain and transparent regulatory frameworks and environment, said Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.
Cambodia has also focused on open markets through strategic free trade agreements to provide preferential access to ASEAN market, as well as major global economies including the EU, the US, China, Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.
“We're also actively organising business summits such as today's event to prove valuable collaborative opportunities,” he added. “This dynamic approach underscores our dedications to deepening regional ties and creating a comprehensively interconnected business ecosystem.”
Within Cambodia's business landscape, we strongly value the power of partnership between the government and investors, both international and domestic, the Premier said, emphasising that Cambodia has also prioritised open communication and fostered a dynamic and responsive environment by regularly organising Government-Private Sector Forum.
