Infantry Brigade No. 51 Martial Arts School Won 10 Gold Medals for Pencak Silat
AKP Phnom Penh, March 11, 2025 --
An athlete team from Infantry Brigade No. 51 Martial Arts School tops the list, with 10 gold medals at the 1st 2025 National Pencak Silat Championships.
The result was announced prior to the closing ceremony of the 2025 National Pencak Silat Championships that took place on Mar. 9 under the presidency of H.E. Prum Bunnayi, Advisor to the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports.
Addressing the function, Mr. Chheang Sovanratana, Vice President of the Cambodian Pencak Silat Federation, spoke highly of the athletes' effort in their competitions, adding that the players are brave and will become models for the next generations to bring honour for themselves and the country.
Tareach Martial Arts School ranked 2nd, with 5 medals (2 gold and 3 bronze), followed by Rithea Eysan Martial Arts School, with 4 medals (1 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze), Hanuman Meanchey Martial Arts School, with 3 medals (1 gold and 2 bronze), and Silat Phnom Penh Martial Arts School, with 2 medals (1 gold and 1 bronze).
The 2025 National Pencak Silat Championships aimed to select the best players for the 33rd Sea Games in Thailand in December, according to Mr. Ou Dara, Secretary General of the Cambodian Pencak Silat Federation.
Some 127 athletes (41 females) from 22 clubs throughout 9 cities and provinces registered for the tournament held in Phnom Penh on Mar. 8-9, said the secretary general, stressing the event comprised 15 disciplines, including 9 for men and 6 for women.
