Prime Minister Instructs Special Preparation of Labour Medals for National and Sub-National Officials
AKP Phnom Penh, March 19, 2025 -- Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has instructed ministries and institutions and sub-national administrations to select officials for the awarding of labour medals.
In a voice message shared this afternoon, the Premier explained that this special move will apply to civil servants and contracted officials who have served for at least 10 years, are actively engaged in their duties, maintain regular attendance at work, have a clean record, and have never received any medal of labour.
Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet advised the Office of the Council of Ministers to form an ad-hoc working group to collaborate with all ministries and institutions and sub-national administrations in identifying eligible officials.
Additionally, the Prime Minister asked the Office of the Council of Ministers to draft a new directive that aligns with the current situation, because if the existing quota of 10 percent continues to be applied, it may limit opportunities for civil servants to receive medals of labour.
“Of course, we cannot award medals to all officials at once, but we must establish a reasonable quota that allows flexibility to ministries and institutions and sub-national administrations to nominate eligible officials, who are in large numbers, and comply with specific conditions and qualifications for medal awarding,” said Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet.
