AKP Phnom Penh, March 21, 2025 --
The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in Cambodia has launched the 'Startup Launchpad Food Edition Business Incubation Competition' in Cambodia to improve farmer incomes by strengthening agricultural markets.
The launching ceremony took place in Battambang province on Mar. 20 in the presence of Mr. Shin Younghwa, Deputy Country Director of the KOICA Cambodia office, Dr. Srean Pao, Vice-Rector of the National University of Battambang, and Ms. Krech Sreyneang, representative of Khmer Enterprise (KE).
The initiative, part of KOICA's Peace Village Project, supports aspiring entrepreneurs to develop innovative solutions that will increase market access for farmers, diversify agricultural products, especially horticulture, and boost rural incomes, according to KOICA Cambodia Office.
“KOICA is proud to support this project, which contributes to sustainable economic development and empowers local communities,” it said.
The top three winning teams will each receive a prize of US$5,000, pointed out KOICA, adding that this financial support will provide a significant boost to the winning startups' ability to launch and scale their businesses.
This “Startup Launchpad Food Edition Business Incubation Competition” is organised by National University of Battambang with co-sponsorship from KOICA and Khmer Enterprise.
