First Lady Delivers 5,000 Tripitaka Copies to Vipassana Dhura Centre in Preah Vihear
AKP Phnom Penh, March 21, 2025 --
Cambodia’s First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet has led a procession to deliver 5,000 copies of the Tripiṭaka (Khmer Buddhist scriptures) to Cambodia’s Vipassana Dhura Centre in Kulen district, Preah Vihear province.
A big group of Buddhist monks and followers, including nuns, civil servants, teachers, and students, joined the procession that also practiced the chanting at the Vipassana Dhura Centre.
Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet remarked that the Tripitaka is the most useful sets of rules and teachings to make humanity moral, intellectual, and capable of acting and performing rightly in personal life, family, and society at large.
It guides everyone to do good deeds and practice the Dharma most effectively, thus promoting mutual understanding and social harmony, she added.
The First Lady, joined by Preah Vihear Provincial Governor H.E. Kim Rithy, thanked the joiners of the procession for their participation and contribution to the printing of Tripitaka copies to make them available for learning and teaching.
