Cambodian Foreign Ministry: No Cambodians Reported Affected by Earthquakes in Myanmar and Thailand

No Cambodian nationals have been so far reported affected by the recent earthquakes in Thailand and Myanmar, according to H.E. Chum Sounry, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
In a statement issued this afternoon, the spokesperson confirmed that the ministry is closely monitoring the situation and has instructed the Royal Embassies of Cambodia in Thailand and Myanmar to gather information regarding the safety of Cambodian nationals in both countries.
The embassies are ready to cooperate with the relevant authorities in the host countries to provide necessary assistance to affected Cambodian nationals, the statement added.
At the same time, the ministry urged all Cambodian nationals currently in Thailand and Myanmar, especially those in earthquake-affected areas, to contact their families and friends to confirm their safety. They are also advised to remain vigilant, take necessary precautions for personal safety, and follow the instructions and safety measures issued by local authorities.
A powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake struck Bangkok, Thailand, and central Myanmar this afternoon, resulting in casualties and property damage.
