Cambodia Bags 6 Medals from WGP1 Water Jet Championship in Japan
AKP Phnom Penh, May 19, 2025 --
Cambodian Jet Ski athletes grabbed a total of six medals – four gold and 2 silver – from the WGP1 Water Jet Championship, held in Osaka, Japan from May 15 to 18.
Mr. Saly Filin, known as Golden Boy, alone won three medals: two gold and a silver in Amateur Runabout 1100 Stock, Pro Sport GP, and Pro-Am Runabout 1100 Open events.
At the same time, Mr. Min Osman got a gold medal in Novice Ski Stock and a silver medal in Amateur Ski 4 Stroke lites, while another gold medal was earned by Mr. Kai Vansiden in Amateur Ski 4 Stroke lites.
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet extended his congratulations to the three athletes via his social media networks last evening.
This is another pride for Cambodia to demonstrate her sports potential at the international arenas.
More than 200 world-class Jet Ski riders from 21 countries across five continents: Asia, Europe, the Americas, Oceania, and Africa join the water sport championship in Japan, the first round of the WGP#1 Waterjet World Series 2025.
