Five Cambodian Taekwondo Athletes Train for Tournament in Germany
AKP Phnom Penh, May 28, 2025--
Five Cambodian Taekwondo WT athletes are training hard for the forthcoming 2025 Summer World University Games in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany.
The update was shared by Mr. Choi Yongsok, South Korean coach of the Cambodian National WT Taekwondo, adding that they are training three sessions a day.
Noting the athletes’ potential and accumulated international experiences, the coach was positive that the Cambodian athletes will do very well and win medals for Cambodia.
The 2025 Summer World University Games will take place from July 16 to 27, with the participation of athletes from over 100 countries across the world.
The event will be another good opportunity for the Cambodian athletes to sharpen their capacity and experience, getting readier for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand in December, he added.
Cambodia is preparing 35 athletes to compete in six kinds of sports for the 2025 Summer World University Games, including fencing, athletics, swimming, judo, badminton, and taekwondo.
