Cambodia Wins 29 Medals at Regional Jiu-Jitsu Championships 2025
AKP Phnom Penh, July 14, 2025 -- Cambodia's national Jiu-Jitsu team delivered a strong performance at the JJAU Southeast Asia Regional Championships 2025, claiming a total of 29 medals, including 9 gold, 8 silver, and 12 bronze.
The Jiu-Jitsu Federation of Cambodia sent a delegation of 18 athletes to compete among over 400 participants from across Southeast Asia in the event held in Manila, Philippines, from July 12 to 13.
Among the dispatched athletes were two Cambodian-American athletes who proudly represented Cambodia for the first time at an international sporting event.
H.E. Thong Panhathun, Secretary General of the federation, emphasised that the championship served as a key stepping stone for the team to sharpen their skills ahead of the 2025 Southeast Asian (SEA) Games, to be hosted by Thailand this December.
This marked the second edition of the Southeast Asia Regional Championships organised by the Southeast Asian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, following last year’s inaugural tournament held in Bali, Indonesia.
