Cambodian “Vishnu’s Cosmic Ocean” Sculpture Showcased at Smithsonian in Washington, D.C.

A remarkable Cambodian sculpture, “Vishnu’s Cosmic Ocean,” is now on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art in Washington, D.C., according to the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia.
The exhibition features an impressive large-scale sculpture from Southeast Asia, on loan from the National Museum of Cambodia, highlighting the richness of Cambodia’s cultural heritage.
The opening ceremony was attended by representatives from Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, underscoring the importance of cultural cooperation between the two countries.
The U.S. Embassy in Cambodia encouraged visitors in Washington, D.C. to take advantage of the rare opportunity to view the exhibition before it concludes on September 7, 2026, noting that it reflects decades of partnership between Cambodia and the United States.
