Ministry, AUF Discuss Preparations for 20th Francophonie Summit in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, March 27, 2026 --
The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) Asia-Pacific Region have discussed preparations for activities related to the 20th Francophonie Summit, scheduled to take place in Phnom Penh in November.
The discussion was held on Mar. 27 between H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport, and Prof. Nicolas Maïnetti, Regional Director of the AUF Asia-Pacific Region.
During the meeting, Prof. Nicolas Maïnetti highlighted the AUF’s ongoing collaboration with the Ministry in promoting higher education in Cambodia, as well as the relocation of the AUF Asia-Pacific regional office to the Kingdom.
He also reaffirmed the AUF’s commitment to further strengthening cooperation and continuing its support to Cambodia across various sectors.
For his part, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed his high appreciation for the AUF’s cooperation with the Ministry, noting that it has contributed to significant progress in improving education in Cambodia, particularly in the teaching and learning of the French language at the higher education level.
He also encouraged further efforts to expand training courses and workshops, as well as the organisation of online knowledge-sharing sessions to enhance student participation in research.
