AKP Phnom Penh, April 09, 2026 -- Senior official H.E. Ke Kim Yan travelled to Cambodia’s northwest on Thursday to meet with war-displaced communities and people with disabilities, reaffirming the state’s commitment to those impacted by the country’s past conflicts.

H.E. Ke Kim Yan, Member of the Supreme Privy Council to His Majesty the King and lawmaker for Banteay Meanchey constituency, led ceremonies at Chan Sy pagoda in O’ Chrov district and Slakram commune in Svay Chek district. 

Accompanied by provincial leaders, the visit combined humanitarian aid distribution with Buddhist merit-making rites to honour fallen service members.

Addressing the gathered veterans and elderly residents, H.E. Ke Kim Yan delivered personal messages of support from Acting Head of State Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet.

"The Royal Government of Cambodia has never abandoned its citizens, particularly those who endured the greatest hardships during times of conflict," H.E. Ke Kim Yan stated.

He characterised the attendees as "living witnesses of history," emphasising that their sacrifices for national defence remain a cornerstone of Cambodia's current stability.

Beyond the ceremonial aspects, the visit served as a directive for local governance. H.E. Ke Kim Yan instructed provincial authorities to intensify their monitoring of refugee centres and social welfare facilities to ensure rapid responses to healthcare and protection needs.

The mission concluded with the distribution of financial support and essential supplies, aimed at bolstering morale and reinforcing social solidarity under the nation's prevailing peace.
