Traffic Accidents During Traditional New Year Holiday Total 27 Cases
AKP Phnom Penh, April 17, 2026 --
During the three-day Khmer Traditional New Year holiday from April 14 to 16, a total of 27 traffic accidents were recorded nationwide, according to the National Police Commissariat.
The accidents claimed 17 lives and resulted in 45 serious and minor injuries.
On April 16 alone, 12 traffic accidents were reported across the country, causing six deaths and 25 injuries.
On April 15, nine accidents were recorded, resulting in six deaths and 14 injuries, while on April 14, six accidents occurred, leaving five people dead and six others injured.
