AKP Phnom Penh, April 20, 2026 --
The Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Japan is going to host the 10th Cambodia Festival (2026) at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo on May 3-4.
On April 18, a preparatory meeting was organised at the embassy under the chairmanship of H.E. CHUM Sounry, Ambassador-Designate of the Kingdom of Cambodia to Japan and Chairman of the Cambodia Festival Committee. It was conducted in a hybrid format, with participation both in person and online by vice-chairpersons and committee members, the Honorary Consul of Cambodia in Sendai, heads and members of various working groups, Cambodian and Japanese supporters of Cambodian culture, as well as the embassy’s officials and staff.
According to the embassy, during the meeting, participants reviewed in detail the progress made by each working group in implementing their respective plans and finalised preparations for the 10th Cambodia Festival.
In concluding the meeting, H.E. the Ambassador expressed his sincere appreciation for the continued efforts, strong cooperation, and unwavering support demonstrated by all committee members and working groups. He encouraged the Embassy's working group and all stakeholders to maintain close coordination in addressing remaining tasks to ensure the smooth and successful organisation of the forthcoming Cambodia Festival.
Held annually since 2015, the Cambodia Festival aims to promote and preserve Khmer arts and culture, and encourage trade, investment, and tourism among Japanese and foreign guests through traditional performances, classical music, displays of traditional Khmer costumes, promotional booths highlighting tourist destinations and investment projects, and exhibitions of Cambodian products and cuisine. This cultural event attracted more than 100,000 visitors last year.
