His Majesty Preah Bat Samdech Preah Boromneath Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, has expressed his sincere appreciation to Singaporean President H.E. Tharman Shanmugaratnam for his warm birthday greetings and wishes for a smooth recovery following the King's recent surgery.

In a letter dated May 30 from Beijing, where His Majesty is undergoing medical treatment, the monarch said he was deeply touched by President Tharman's thoughtful message and heartfelt wishes.

His Majesty also welcomed the Singaporean President's reaffirmation of the close friendship and strong cooperation between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the Republic of Singapore.

His Majesty the King noted that the two countries have cultivated a valuable partnership over the past six decades and expressed satisfaction that bilateral relations continue to flourish in an atmosphere of mutual trust, respect and understanding.

His Majesty further shared President Tharman's aspiration to strengthen cooperation in support of sustainable development, prosperity and the well-being of the peoples of both nations, while contributing to peace, stability and shared prosperity in the region.

The King concluded by extending his warm wishes for President Tharman's good health and success, as well as for the continued happiness and prosperity of the people of Singapore.
