One More Group, Vital Support Cambodia's Nationwide Anti-Fake News Campaign
AKP Phnom Penh, June 02, 2026 --
Cambodian conglomerate One More Group and its premium water brand, Vital, have partnered with the Ministry of Information to support a nationwide anti-fake news campaign aimed at ensuring information security for the public.
Information Minister H.E. Neth Pheaktra received Ms. Lao Jia Hsin, Marketing Director of One More Group, during a courtesy call at the Ministry’s office on Monday afternoon.
During the meeting, the company pledged its support for the Ministry's initiatives by donating 1,200 T-shirts and 100 cases of Vital premium bottled water.
The promotional T-shirts feature the campaign slogan "Say NO to Fake News" on the front, with the reverse side reading "Say NO to Fake News Campaign: Enhancing Information and Media Literacy for Information Security."
H.E. Minister Pheaktra expressed his gratitude for the donation, highlighting One More Group’s active corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts and its timely support for the second phase of the Ministry's "Say NO to Fake News" campaign. He noted that the contribution would significantly boost the Ministry’s operational capacity to expand the campaign across the country.
During the meeting, the Minister underscored the severe socioeconomic ramifications of misinformation.
"Fake news has the potential to incite social unrest, erode public trust, and cause significant financial and time losses for citizens," H.E. Neth Pheaktra said. "It defames individuals, violates privacy, fuels social discrimination and hostility, and ultimately threatens public order and national security."
To counter this growing digital threat, H.E. Minister emphasised the need for a proactive strategy. He called for timely monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of information, urging stakeholders to adopt a unified, systematic response while continuously adapting to emerging technologies, particularly Artificial Intelligence (AI).
For his part, Ms. Lao Jia Hsin reiterated the company's commitment to social development, stating that One More Group aims to raise public awareness about the dangers of misinformation and encourage citizens to verify sources before sharing content online.
The Ministry of Information officially launched the second phase of the campaign on May 18 at Hun Sen Bun Rany Wat Phnom High School, drawing over 2,000 teachers and students.
Addressing the youth during the launch, the Minister stressed the importance of digital resilience. "Today's youth must not only leverage technology for education but also build strong resilience against fake news to avoid the traps of the digital world," H.E. Neth Pheaktra said, urging students to become proactive agents in maintaining a clean digital environment and protecting their communities from the dangers of online disinformation.
