Cambodian Youth Win JCI ASPAC Debate Championship in Japan

Three Cambodian youths have brought home international recognition after winning the JCI ASPAC Debate Championship 2026 held in Niigata City, Japan.
The championship-winning team comprised Ms. Sleh Ryan, Ms. Ung Khemara Bormeychan, and Mr. Seang Theansoeng, all members of the CamEd Public Speaking and Debate Club (CPSDC).
The Cambodian team secured the title after delivering a strong performance throughout the competition, defeating Thailand, overcoming Malaysia in the semifinal round, and ultimately defeating Mongolia in the final to claim the championship.
“The achievement highlights the capability, knowledge, and public speaking excellence of Cambodian youth on the international stage and marks another proud milestone for Cambodia,” stressed the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport in a Facebook message on Sunday evening.
The 2026 JCI ASPAC Conference, organised annually by Junior Chamber International (JCI), was held in Niigata Prefecture, Japan, from June 11 to 14, 2026, bringing together young leaders and participants from across the Asia-Pacific region.
