AKP Phnom Penh, June 15, 2026 --
H.E. Sun Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), led on June 15 a high-level Cambodian delegation to hold a working meeting with Mr. Park Seung-Hee, President of Corporate Relations of Samsung Electronics, during an official visit to the headquarters of Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., located within the Samsung Innovation Centre in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province.
Accompanying H.E. Deputy Prime Minister during this high-level meeting and visit were H.E. Khoun Phon Rattanak, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Cambodia to the Republic of Korea, Mr. Park Joo-bong, Chairman of the Incheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI) along with the leadership and senior officials from the CDC and the Ministry of Commerce, as well as representatives from the Cambodian private sector.
During the dialogue, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister highlighted Cambodia’s regional comparative advantages, emphasising how the Kingdom’s strategic positioning, favourable investment climate, and competitive benefits align with Samsung’s long-term strategic expansion plans.
In response, Mr. Park Seung-Hee acknowledged Cambodia’s immense potential and added that Samsung has been actively studying these positive factors.
He further noted that the company’s investment expansion decisions are subjected to sequential internal evaluation and procedures, which may naturally require a certain period of time for comprehensive review.
To further facilitate and expedite the company’s decision-making process, H.E. Deputy Prime Minister reaffirmed the Royal Government of Cambodia’s absolute readiness to provide comprehensive coordination and crucial strategic information.
This support aims to ensure that Samsung is equipped with a solid, well-defined foundation to evaluate and assess opportunities prior to making final investment decisions in Cambodia.
The global headquarters of Samsung Electronics in Suwon City, Gyeonggi Province, was established in 1969. Fondly known as "Samsung Digital City," the campus currently serves as a hub of global innovation, employing approximately 35,000 personnel.
