International Media Delegation Witnesses Progress on Guangxi’s Economic Development
AKP Guangxi, June 19, 2026 -- An international delegation of journalists from 15 countries including Cambodia’s state news agency -AKP recently completed a four-day tour of South China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, witnessing the final construction phases of the landmark Pinglu Canal.
During the four days visit from June 13 to 16, 2026, the international media delegation toured the Madao Hub of the Pinglu Canal.
The mega-infrastructure project, which achieved full-channel water connectivity earlier this month, is on track for its official launch this September.
It is being hailed as a transformative driver of trade and logistics between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
During a welcoming event hosted by the CPC Qinzhou Committee and the Publicity Department, media representatives from 15 countries of CIPCC programme gathered to strengthen exchanges and gain a deeper understanding of Guangxi’s development at Tianjiao International Hotel.
Mr. Zeng Zhi, Director General of the Publicity of Department of the CPC Qinzhou Committee, highlighted the importance of friendship, cultural exchange, and mutual understanding.
He noted that although journalists came from different countries and media organisations, they shared a common mission to report truthfully, promote friendship, and encourage mutual learning among civilsations.
The delegation also visited the Smart Port Innovation Centre of Beibu Gulf Port, the Jiangsu Chinagreen Biological Technology which is exporting many kinds of Mushrooms to Cambodia, gaining insight into Guangxi achievements in the infrastructure, technology, tourism and international cooperation.
