Cambodia, U.S. Discuss Preparations for Angkor Sentinel 2027 Military Exercise
AKP Phnom Penh, June 27, 2026 —
Soldiers from U.S. Army Pacific and the Idaho Army National Guard met with leaders from the Royal Cambodian Army and the National Centre for Peacekeeping, Mines, and Explosive Remnants of War (NPMEC) during the Exercise Angkor Sentinel 2027 Concept Development Conference.
According to the U.S. Embassy in Phnom Penh, senior military leaders from both nations gathered in Phnom Penh and at the Peacekeeping Operations Training Centre to plan for the exercise, which is set to resume for the first time since 2016.
This renewed collaboration underscores a shared commitment to strengthening U.S.–Cambodia military cooperation and promoting peace, stability, and preparedness across the Indo-Pacific region.
