Cambodia to Chair 47th Extraordinary Session of Ministerial Conference of la Francophonie in Paris

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. PRAK Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Chair of the Ministerial Conference of la Francophonie, will preside over the 47th Extraordinary Session of the Ministerial Conference of la Francophonie in France.
According to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation on Sunday afternoon, this extraordinary session, to be held on June 30 in Paris, represents a pivotal step in the selection of the next Secretary General of the International Organisation of La Francophonie (OIF) for the 2027-2030 term.
The representatives of OIF Member States will assess the visions and plans of the four candidates for the future of the OIF, and subsequently submit recommendations to their respective leaders for the final selection of the most appropriate candidate for the post of OIF Secretary General, at the 20th Summit of La Francophonie, scheduled to be held on Nov. 15-16, 2026, in Phnom Penh, Kingdom of Cambodia.
On the sidelines of the session, the Cambodian top diplomat will also hold bilateral meetings with counterparts from several OIF member States, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, promoting cooperation, and addressing issues of common interests.
