Singapore has deployed two military officers to join the ASEAN Observer Team (AOT) in Cambodia to help observe and verify the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border following the implementation of the ceasefire.

According to a press release issued by the Spokeswoman of Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, the Cambodia Liaison Group (CLG) on Friday welcomed Major Lim Jun Da and First Warrant Officer Tan Jun Wei, who will serve as Singapore’s rotating representatives in the AOT.

The ASEAN Observer Team, led by the Philippines as the rotating ASEAN Chair, is tasked with observing and verifying the situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border after the ceasefire took effect.

The Ministry reaffirmed Cambodia’s continued support for the AOT and its role in ensuring the implementation of the ceasefire between Cambodia and Thailand, with the objectives of promoting transparency, building mutual trust, and protecting the lives of civilians.

Cambodia also reiterated its readiness to welcome friendly countries to deploy observers or participate in peace-building efforts.

The Royal Government and the Ministry of National Defence further reaffirmed Cambodia’s firm, sincere, and unwavering commitment to fully implement the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) signed on Dec. 27, 2025, the Joint Declaration on the Peace Agreement between Cambodia and Thailand signed on Oct. 26, 2025, and all other relevant agreements.

The Ministry said the commitment is aimed at ensuring rapid recovery, restoring normalcy, and achieving lasting peace and stability along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
