MinebeaMitsumi Eyes Further Investment in Cambodia
AKP Phnom Penh, July 28, 2026 --
Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, received Mr. Yoshihisa Kainuma, CEO of MinebeaMitsumi Inc., and his colleagues for a courtesy call and working discussion at the Peace Palace on Tuesday morning.
During the meeting, Mr. Kainuma expressed his deep appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia and relevant ministries and institutions for their continued strong support for MinebeaMitsumi’s operations in Cambodia, which have contributed to the company’s achievements and success in the country.
The CEO briefed the Prime Minister on the company’s business progress, plans to inaugurate a new factory in Cambodia, and its plans to further expand investment in the country.
He noted that the company’s success and growth have helped attract other Japanese investors to Cambodia, while reaffirming MinebeaMitsumi’s continued confidence in Cambodia’s investment climate and stability.
The company will also celebrate the 15th anniversary of its business operations in Cambodia in December this year.
In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed his pleasure at MinebeaMitsumi’s progress and success in Cambodia, stressing that the company’s success is also a success for Cambodia.
The Royal Government will continue to support investors and ensure a favourable, resilient and highly competitive investment environment, the Prime Minister said.
He highlighted various policies and mechanisms introduced to facilitate business and investment in Cambodia, including the reform of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), efforts to strengthen and support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and investment incentives through tax concessions for Cambodia’s potential and strategic sectors.
The Cambodian Premier also encouraged MinebeaMitsumi to explore opportunities to invest further in domestic supply chains, identify potential local partners, and maintain close cooperation with relevant ministries and institutions to enhance investment efficiency and seize new opportunities for further growth in Cambodia.
MinebeaMitsumi Inc. is a leading Japanese company and a global leader in the manufacture of high-precision mechanical and electronic components.
The company established its Cambodian subsidiary in 2010 and began production operations in 2011. It currently operates a manufacturing facility in Phnom Penh and is expanding its investment through the construction of a new factory in Krakor district, Pursat province.
MinebeaMitsumi has created employment opportunities for nearly 10,000 Cambodian people and has made significant contributions to the development of Cambodia’s industrial sector, technology transfer and human resource development.
