Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Prak Sokhonn, received a courtesy call from Australia's Minister for International Development, Small Business, and Multicultural Affairs, H.E. Dr. Anne Aly, on Thursday morning, during her official visit to Cambodia.

The two Ministers noted with satisfaction the steady advancement of bilateral relations over the past seven decades, reflected in frequent high-level exchanges, growing trade volumes, and robust people-to-people connections.

Both sides held in-depth discussions on ways to further strengthen and expand cooperation in priority areas, including trade and investment, agriculture and agro-industry, energy, education, and demining – a sector where Australia has been a longstanding partner.

The Ministers also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability, and sustainable development.

As 2027 will mark the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Cambodia and Australia, both countries have committed to further strengthening their partnership and are looking forward to jointly organising activities to commemorate this historic milestone.

Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn also updated Dr. Anne Aly on the current developments regarding the Cambodia-Thailand border issues.
