AIA Pink Run Attracts 3,615 Participants from 36 Countries to Raise Breast Cancer Awareness
AKP Phnom Penh, October 26, 2026 --
The fourth AIA Pink Run 2026 attracted a total of 3,615 participants from 36 countries, promoting public awareness of breast cancer prevention and encouraging people to make sports a lifelong habit, said H.E. Dr. Thong Khon, Senior Minister and President of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC).
Held on the morning of Oct. 25 in front of Wat Botum Watey Park in Phnom Penh, the event aimed to promote the campaign encouraging everyone to practise at least one sport throughout their lives, while raising awareness of and helping prevent breast cancer in Cambodia.
Of the 3,615 participants, 3,210 were Cambodian and 405 were international participants from 36 countries. The countries with the largest numbers of participants included the Philippines, the United States, Britain, Japan and Australia.
The 10-kilometre race, the event’s main category, attracted 1,512 runners, comprising 1,279 Cambodians and 233 foreign participants. The 5-kilometre race drew 1,233 runners, including 1,109 Cambodians and 124 foreigners, while the 2.5-kilometre race had 870 participants, comprising 822 Cambodians and 48 foreigners.
Meanwhile, NOCC Secretary-General H.E. Vath Chamroeun said in a post-race interview that the event also helped women access breast cancer screening and treatment services.
He noted that the NOCC had consistently received in-principle approval from the Royal Government of Cambodia and Phnom Penh Capital Administration, along with support from major sponsor AIA and other partners. Their cooperation had enabled the organising committee to improve the event’s quality compared with previous years.
Thousands of women also benefited from free breast cancer screening services during the event, while taking part in the recreational run and promoting their overall health and well-being.
