CBF Committed to Developing Boxing as Cambodia's Flagship Sport

The Cambodian Boxing Federation (CBF) is committed to developing boxing as a flagship sport in Cambodia.
The commitment was announced by H.E. Buy Sophoan, CBF Secretary General in a general assembly at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) in Phnom Penh on Feb. 28.
H.E. Buy Sophoan continued that to achieve the objective, the federation targeted to win more medals from regional and world sports events, particularly the 4th Asian Youth Games 2029 in Cambodia.
The federation will also identify partners to organise competitions and sharpen the performance of the national boxing team.
It plans to introduce a boxing academy to promote young talent boxers across the country.
During the general assembly, H.E. Buy Sophoan was elected as the CBF President for the 8th mandate of 2025-2029, after the previous president Dr. Chheung Yao Yen resigned from his position. He was then appointed Honorary President of CBF.
