Return of Cambodia Royal Ballet on Stage in France
AKP Phnom Penh, March 07, 2025 --
Twenty-two (22) Cambodian dancers are performing the country's Royal Ballet in an event called “Le Ballet Royal du Cambodge” in Paris, Bordeaux, and Metz from Mar. 6-12.
The opportunity to showcase the Cambodia Royal Ballet in France is made possible through a cooperation between Cambodia Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts (MoCFA) and the Khmer Artists Association (KAA).
The Cambodian dancing delegation was led by H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, Minister of Culture and Fine Arts, and Neak Oknha Mao Chamnan, KAA President, with the company of Princess Norodom Arunrasmy.
According to a news release issued by KAA’s press release, the performance marks the return of Cambodia Royal Ballet, an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, to France after several years of suspension following the death of Princess Norodom Buppha Devi.
It aims to showcase Cambodian cultural arts on the international stage, strengthening relations between Cambodia and the global community, and attracting European visitors to Cambodia through cultural exchange.
