Cambodia, India Discuss Enhanced Military Cooperation

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence H.E. General Tea Seiha and Indian Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Vanlalvawna Bawitlung met in Phnom Penh on Mar. 31 to discuss the strengthening of military ties between the two nations.
During the meeting at the Ministry of National Defence, H.E. General Tea Seiha emphasised the robust and expanding defence cooperation between Cambodia and India. He expressed gratitude for India's ongoing support in developing Cambodia's defence capabilities, particularly in human resource training for the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
For his part, H.E. Bawitlung highlighted Cambodia as a key partner under India's "Act East" policy, noting the regular exchange of high-level defence officials. He announced India's proposal to establish a defence office within its embassy in Cambodia and stated that India is working to appoint a defence attaché to facilitate closer military collaboration.
The ambassador sought H.E. General Tea Seiha's support in advancing his diplomatic mission, having recently assumed his post.
In response, H.E. General Tea Seiha agreed with the establishment of the defence office.
Both officials exchanged views on expanding bilateral defence relations. The meeting underscored the commitment of both nations to deepen their strategic partnership in the defence sector.
