AKP Phnom Penh, March 06, 2026 --
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has urged relevant institutions to pay close attention to the well-being of Cambodian citizens currently stranded in the Middle East.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the annual meeting of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) this afternoon, Samdech Thipadei said a total of 487 Cambodian citizens are currently stranded in seven countries in the region, including 282 students in Israel.
The Prime Minister said he had instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, along with other relevant institutions, to work closely together and closely monitor the situation to ensure their safety.
“Their safety is the top priority; afterward we will take the necessary measures,” he underlined.
Regarding energy issues, particularly gasoline, Samdech Thipadei also advised the Ministry of Mines and Energy and the Ministry of Commerce to closely monitor oil prices, import volumes, and developments in the global market.
He further emphasised the need to monitor the domestic market and take measures to prevent any party from taking advantage of the situation by excessively increasing prices and disrupting fair business practices.
