Government Monitoring Middle East Conflict’s Impact on Fuel Prices
AKP Phnom Penh, March 10, 2026 -- The Royal Government of Cambodia is closely monitoring the potential impact of conflicts in the Middle East on global energy markets, particularly fuel prices, according to Government Spokesperson H.E. Pen Bona.
To ensure transparency in fuel supply and sales nationwide, the Ministry of Commerce has instructed fuel distributors and station operators to comply with official retail pricing notices, maintain fuel quality and accurate measurement, and regularly report inventory levels to the authorities.
Operators are also required to notify authorities at least one day in advance if they anticipate supply shortages or plan to temporarily suspend fuel sales.
Fuel distribution must prioritise essential public services, including ambulances, fire trucks and other emergency vehicles, as well as farmers and businesses involved in key production and logistics chains.
Officials from the Ministry of Commerce and relevant agencies will continue nationwide inspections of fuel stations and depots, with legal action to be taken against operators found manipulating prices or exploiting the situation, the spokesperson said.
According to the Ministry of Commerce, between Mar. 8 and 10, 2026, the retail price for gasoline in Cambodia was set at 4,400 Riel (about US$1.1) per litre, while diesel is priced at 5,150 Riel (about US$1.28) per litre.
