Vietnamese Navy Ship Visits Cambodia to Strengthen Ties

A sailing vessel of the Vietnam People's Navy, LE QUY DON (No. 286), is paying a four-day goodwill visit to Cambodia from May 30 to June 2, aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation between the navies of the two neighbouring countries.
The vessel arrived at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port in Preah Sihanouk province on May 30. Upon its arrival, the ship was welcomed by Rear Admiral In Sokhemara, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Navy’s Ream Naval Base, along with many naval officers.
The LE QUY DON (No. 286), a sailing training vessel of the Vietnam People's Navy, is led by Captain Lai Hong Dong, Deputy Director of the Vietnam Naval Academy. The visit is being conducted to further enhance the longstanding friendship and close cooperation between the Cambodian and Vietnamese navies.
According to its technical specifications, the vessel is 67 metres long, 10 metres wide, has a displacement of 747 tonnes, and a draft of 4.3 metres.
During their stay in Preah Sihanouk province, the Vietnamese naval delegation is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the commander of Ream Naval Base and participate in friendly sports activities with personnel of the Cambodian Navy.
