AKP Phnom Penh, August 25, 2026 -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sport H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron led a high-level delegation to inspect the progress of the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme and engage with temporary school staff in Oddar Meanchey province on Monday.

The delegation, comprising representatives from the National Social Protection Council Secretariat, local authorities, the World Food Programme (WFP), and Action Education, visited safe site communities in Chongkal and Wat Bat Thdao under the Land Allocation for Social and Economic Development Project III (LASED III).

During the visit, H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron observed overall infrastructure conditions, the preparation of morning meals for students, and ongoing classroom instruction. He engaged in discussions with camp management committees, school principals, warehouse managers, teachers, cooks, and parents to evaluate operational progress, address challenges, and refine support mechanisms.

To support operations, the delegation distributed essential supplies, food items, and financial aid sourced from ministry funds and private donations to the camp management committees and temporary schools. H.E. Minister reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to collaborating with partners and donors to minimise learning disruptions and sustain educational continuity for displaced children.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron expressed gratitude to local authorities, teachers, development partners, WFP, and Action Education for their technical, material, and financial contributions to border-area safety camps. He called on parents and local communities to maintain close cooperation with educational staff to ensure child safety and access to quality education.
