The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) and Informa Markets on Monday opened FoodTec Cambodia 2026 and PackTalk Cambodia 2026, bringing manufacturers, technology providers and packaging specialists together to advance food processing, product quality and market access.

Held at the Koh Pich Island Convention and Exhibition Centre from Sept. 28 to 30, the two events connect policy and industry discussions with practical technologies and services. PackTalk Cambodia is organised under the theme “Packaging: The Last Mile to the Market.”

Presiding over the opening, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation H.E. Hem Vanndy said Cambodia needs to build packaging capabilities alongside its expanding food processing and manufacturing industries.

“Packaging is the next link in this chain. Its development will be important not only for improving individual products, but also for strengthening domestic supply chains and increasing the value retained within Cambodia’s economy,” Minister Vanndy said.

He added that a competitive packaging ecosystem would require stronger domestic suppliers, technical services, research and testing capabilities, and closer links between packaging producers and the industries they serve.

PackTalk Cambodia complements the exhibition through discussions on product protection, packaging design, food safety, standards, labelling, sustainability and consumer trust. The programme also connects Cambodian manufacturers and agro-processors with packaging suppliers, researchers, technical institutions and potential business partners.

FoodTec Cambodia, the country’s first dedicated exhibition for food-processing and packaging technology, features more than 100 exhibitors presenting machinery, packaging solutions and agricultural technologies. The organisers expect the event to attract more than 5,000 industry representatives, businesses, researchers and other participants.

During the event, MISTI also officially launched 100 percent of its public services online, making them faster, easier, more

convenient and efficient for enterprises and the public to access.
