Pursat Orange Officially Registered as Collective Mark
AKP Phnom Penh, October 2, 2026 --
The Ministry of Commerce has officially registered “Pursat Orange” as a collective mark, marking another step towards strengthening the identity of the Cambodian product and promoting its recognition in both domestic and international markets.
The registration was officially made on Sept. 9, 2026, according to a news release issued this evening by the Ministry of Commerce.
The collective mark is also expected to contribute to protecting the intellectual property rights of the communities of Pursat Orange growers and traders in Pursat province.
Pursat Orange has several distinctive characteristics, including a sweet-and-sour taste. Its skin can be green, yellow or deep yellow, with a smooth or slightly rough surface.
The fruit also has soft segments with abundant juice, or firm segments with more flesh.
Currently, Pursat Orange is cultivated on a total area of 3,047 hectares, of which 1,938 hectares are harvested, producing approximately 29,881 tonnes per year.
The harvesting season lasts eight months, from June to November each year, with an average yield of 12 to 16 tonnes per hectare, according to the Ministry of Commerce.
