CSX: Average Daily Trading Volume in September 2026 Hits All-Time High
AKP Phnom Penh, October 7, 2026 --
The Cambodia Securities Exchange (CSX) sets a new historic trading record in September 2026, with both average daily trading value and trading volume soaring to an all-time high.
The CSX gained sharp momentum, setting a new all-time record as the average daily trading value in September reached 5.8 billion KHR (approximately US$1.45 million), a surge of roughly 63 percent compared to the previous record set in April, 2022 of 3.6 billion KHR (approximately US$0.89 million).
One has observed that the average daily number of placed orders in September 2026 reached 12,173 orders, with the average number of order quantity of 7.5 million shares ordered per day.
“This historic breakthrough clearly reflects the potential and resilience of Cambodia's securities market, as investors maintain strong confidence and continue investing in the Cambodian stock market amid global economic instability,” read a press release issued on Oct. 7.
At the same time, in September 2026 the CSX Index climbed to 650.62 points, rising 20.26 percent, highlighting solid market confidence and sustained liquidity inflows into the exchange.
The current market rally has captured substantial interest from new investors, resulting in 4,162 new trading accounts opened in September 2026, the highest figure, surpassing the previous record of 4,034 accounts set in September 2018.
Meanwhile, the number of active investors reached an all-time high of 9,806 investors in September 2026. This confirms that the historic surge in trading value and volume is driven by active and broad-based participation from both new and existing investors.
Sustaining this positive progress indicates that recent market momentum is not merely a short-term trend, but the tangible outcome of genuine investor participation and confidence towards the market.
Continued investor involvement serves as the core driver and foundational pillar for developing a resilient securities market, expanding domestic capital-raising avenues for local enterprises, and supporting broader national economic growth.
Launched trading in 2012, CSX is a joint venture between the Cambodian government, holding 55 percent of the stakes and the Korean Exchange, owning the remaining 45 percent.
According to CSX, as of September, the securities market has 12 equity listed companies and listed-corporate bond 16. The listed companies have raised a combined total of approximately US$720 million.
