AKP Phnom Penh, October 16, 2026 -- Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd. plans to launch technical training courses for the automotive industry by the end of 2026.
The plan was discussed at a working meeting on Oct. 16, between H.E. Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Cambodian Investment Board (CIB) at the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), and a delegation from Toyota Tsusho Manufacturing (Cambodia) Co., Ltd.
During the meeting, the company’s representative updated the Cambodian Investment Board on its business operations in Cambodia and outlined plans to establish a technical skills training centre for the automotive industry. The company confirmed that it would launch automotive technical training courses by the end of 2026 in collaboration with the JVC Technical Institute.
H.E. Chea Vuthy welcomed the proposed training centre and commended the company’s business operations in Cambodia. He said the initiative aligned with the Royal Government’s human resource development policy under its seventh legislature, particularly the vocational and technical skills training programme targeting 1.5 million people.
The meeting also covered ways to further promote Cambodia’s automotive assembly industry, including discussions on adjusting investment incentive policies and encouraging the use of locally sourced raw materials to produce components for automotive assembly projects in the country.
The discussions highlighted skills development, investment incentives and local sourcing as areas of cooperation in supporting the development of Cambodia’s automotive assembly sector.
